2. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE :

   New Meteorological activities in Iran emerged since 1919 .  However  , General   Office for Meteorology  was

established  in 1958 and began its operation under authorithy of the Ministry of Roads and   Transportation .

    In 1959,  Iran  acceeded the convention of the World Meteorological Organization   (WMO)  and  became a

Member Country.

     Nowadays, the Islamic Republic of Iran Meteorological Organization (IRIMO) is the State Meteorological

Service.In the following you may find the organizational structure of IRIMO.

     The organizational structure of IRIMO is consisting of a president and three deputies ,  namely :

- Deputy of Techniques and Operations

- Deputy of Research and Training

- Deputy of Administration and Logistics

Furthermore, there are 28 provincial offices which manage regional meteorological activities. You may find the
