14. NATIONAL ACTIVITI ES :

The President of IRIMO and his directors are members of the Supreme Councils and  National  Committees   in  the

country. Furthermore, the President of IRIMO is a member of the following Councils :

a) Supreme Council of Meteorology (The Secretariat is at the IRIMO Headquarters)

b) Supreme Council of Oceanography(The Secretariat is at the Oceanic and Atmospheric Science Center (OASC)

c) National Committee of Natural Disaster Reduction

d) National Committee of Sustainable Development

e) National Commission of Water  (Affiliated to Science Research Councils)

  f) National Commission of Agriculture

g) National Commission of Pure Sciences

h) National Committee of Clean Air

Seminars and Conferences which have been held in Tehran, in 1999, are as follows :

- Fourth Session of the Co-ordinating Committee on Hydrometeorology and Pollution Monitoring of the Caspian Sea.

- RA II Working Group on Agricultural Meteorology.

- WMO Symposium on   Continuing  Education and Training on Meteorology  and  Operational   Hydrology

- Roving Seminar on Automatic Weather Stations
