13. INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES :

During the past decades , the IRIMO has made efforts  and initiatives to establish bilateral and   multilateral with  the

countries and international specialized agencies both in regional and international levels. In view of this , WMO  has

always been focused as core area of activity and cooperation. In the meantime, IRIMO has reached many Agreements

and Memorandum of Understanding with different countries to exchange experts and experiences ,  to hold on the  job

training courses and to conduct reciprocal visits. IRIMO also plays an active role in international sessions of various

  Technical Commissions, Regional Sessions and Working Group Meetings.

During the recent years, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of  Iran with  WMO has been  elected a

member of the Executive Council for two consecutive periods.

In  the Regional   level , the President of  IRIMO is  the new  elected  Chairman   of  the Coordinating  Committee  on

Hydrometeorology and Pollution Monitoring of the Caspian Sea . Furthermore , IRIMO is  holding the Permanent 

  Secretariat   of  this Coordinating Committee which has led to close cooperation with   Inter - Islamic  Network on

  Oceanography.

Furthermore , The President of IRIMO was elected the Second Vice-President of WMO in the Thirteenth Congress

of WMO.

IRIMO wishes to fully implement Regional Marine Meteorological Programme (RMMP) in the Persian Gulf Region in

cooperation with potential friendly neighboring countries.
