10. TRAINING :
The training activities at the IRIMO fall in two parts :
10.1 One part of these activities dates back to long years ago and covers national level .
10.2 Another part which is rather new is called Regional Meteorological Training Center (RMTC) and has been
inaugurated since 1995. It operates both in Regional and International levels.
In national level during the three long-term plans about 1500 persons have passed medium and long term training
courses and received promotion to higher educational qualifications.
In RMTC, Tehran many courses are held every year . For example in previous years 47 students from 27 countries
participated in training courses.
The latest training course of the RMTC, Tehran is entitled " Weather Modification and Cloud Seeding " which is
i ntending to make the participants familiar with new methods in this course of atmospheric physics .
The RMTC, Tehran is the sole international training body on meteorology and atmospheric sciences in Iran which
is collaborating with WMO. The Center has conducted some courses in national levels for MSc. and short term
courses for different participants from all over the world , most especially Asian, South Pacific and African countries.
